Cepi is a solid reality located in the
south of France. It’s Barre Phillips’ vision
about improvisation. It can be flexible
about the team but not about the idea above it all.

Hic stands for Hidden Improvisers Consort.
It’s a study group under the guide
of Claudio Lugo.

This meeting has been organized and strongly
desired by Barre Phillips and Tommaso Rolando.

Colmorto - Volume 1

TORTO EDITIONS 2019 - TRT004 - CD & DIGITAL

Musical seed from the febrile imagination of composer/bassist/freer-than-free alto saxophonist Stefano Scarella (ex- Promenade), nurtured by the twin talents of rosenwinkelite/chorinho zealot
Mario de Simoni and Norn Irish multi-instru/mentalist Joel Cathcart.

Hybrid, exploratory instrumental music. Merging and melding. Titling and retitling. Punk meditation. Oedipal jazz. Accidental body art. Space shuttles out to launch.

Volume 1 is the fourth release from Torto Editions.

Engineered, mixed and mastered in April 2019 by Emanuele Cioncoloni at El Fish Studio, Genoa.

Stefano Scarella - bass
Mario De Simoni - guitar
Joel Cathcart - drums, voice
